Mellow Support
Most questions about Mellow are answered below. If yours is not, email us — a real person reads it.
Email support@mellow.example. To help us help you faster, please include your device model, your iOS version, the Mellow version from Settings, and what you expected versus what happened. Please do not send photos of your ID, payment details or anything you would not want stored in an inbox.
Frequently asked questions
Mellow got my drink wrong. What should I do?
Recognition is a suggestion, not a verdict. Mellow is designed so that you confirm or correct the result — it should never quietly decide for you.
- When the result appears, review the candidates Mellow found.
- If the right drink is listed, choose it.
- If it is not, correct it manually. The corrected name is what gets logged.
Clear liquids are genuinely hard to tell apart from a photo — the same appearance can be water, a spirit, a beer or a cocktail. Mellow will report low confidence rather than guess, and it will not invent an alcohol percentage that is not printed somewhere visible.
If recognition is failing often, it helps us if you tell us what you were photographing and in what light. Do not send us the photo itself unless we ask.
How do I edit or delete a drink I already logged?
Open the night you want to change — from Tonight for the current one, or from your history for a past night — and open the drink entry. From there you can edit the details or remove the entry.
Editing a drink recalculates the night from the corrected information. Corrections are logged as corrections, so a corrected night is not quietly presented as if Mellow had got it right the first time.
How do I end a night?
Ending a night is a deliberate action, not something that happens because you stopped logging. On the Tonight screen, use the end-night control.
Ending a night closes the current session and keeps everything you logged in your history. You can start a new night whenever you like. If you end a night by accident, start a new one — nothing you logged is lost.
What is a Drinking Style, and why does Mellow say "Still Mixing"?
A Drinking Style is a tendency Mellow has observed across the nights you actually logged — for example that you tend to return to familiar drinks, or that you pick up as the night goes on. It is a description of your nights, never a judgement about you as a person, and never a comment on how much you can handle.
Mellow needs a minimum number of logged nights before it will name a style at all. Until then you will see Still Mixing, which means there is not enough evidence for a single clear pattern yet. Mellow would rather say that than invent a personality for you.
A style can also change. If your recent nights stop looking like the style Mellow named, it will tell you the reading is shifting rather than pretending the old one still fits.
What is the difference between Free and Premium?
Free gives you the complete Tonight experience: photo-first drink logging, Night State, the System Model, Mellow's reactions, your drinking history, a basic Drinking Style once you are eligible, and a basic share poster.
Premium is about the longer view: your Personal Drinking Model, your personal pattern, the 7D Drinking Profile, why your Drinking Style fits, the supporting signals behind it, longitudinal insights, and how your style evolves.
In one line: Free understands tonight, Premium learns you over time.
Premium is not on sale yet. There is nothing to buy on this website, and we would rather say that than show you a button that does not work.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by Mellow. To manage or cancel one, open your App Store account settings on your device and go to Subscriptions.
Deleting the Mellow app does not cancel a subscription. You must cancel it through your App Store account.
Mellow Premium is not on sale yet, so there is currently nothing to cancel.
Is my data private? Do you keep my photos?
Your drink log, estimates and check-ins are stored on your device. A photo only leaves your device when you choose to use photo recognition, and recognition will not run without your consent.
When a photo is sent, it goes to an AI model to be read. Mellow's servers do not keep the photo — the image is held in memory only for the request. What may be kept server-side is the text the model read back, such as a drink name, not the picture itself.
The Privacy Policy describes this in detail, including which processors are involved and the few points we are still confirming.
How do I delete my data or my account?
You can delete your local data from within the app. For account-level deletion and what is and is not yet automated, see Delete your account and your data.
Can I use Mellow to check whether I can drive?
No. This is the one thing Mellow must never be used for. Mellow is not a breathalyzer and does not measure alcohol in your body. It cannot tell you whether you are safe to drive, and it will never claim to.
Never rely on any app — including this one — for a decision about driving. If you have been drinking, do not drive.
I found a bug, or I have a feature request.
Email support@mellow.example. Bug reports are genuinely useful — especially with the steps that led to the problem and what you expected instead.
Please do not send us drink photos, and never send identity documents or payment details.
